![]() Future updates are expected to allow a change in voice, add more options and controls to the pop-up box, and to increase the speed of the speech rate directly without having to go to the Settings and make changes. However, it seems to function completely right when installed on Marshmallow. The new version of Google Text-To-Speech 3.9.6 is not yet available for download at the Google Play Store and is currently set-up only with the Android N Developer Preview 3. However, the preview figure fits right for the Android One (4G – General mobile), Pixel C, Nexus Player, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, and Nexus 9 devices. This latest Google Text-To-Speech version 3.9.6 is an Android Beta program compatible with smartphones that run on Android UI. Google claims that this is its first Beta-version release and it is accompanied with a lot of improvised graphics and with a good runtime conduct. The new and latest updates were announced with many new improvements at the recent Google I/O. However, the apk file that has been Google-signed can be downloaded via the Android Police from APK Mirror. The new Text-to-Speech version 3.9.6 comes assembled inside the Android N Developer Preview 3. However, it is now accessible system-wide. You can either select a language manually or you can also let the smartphone detect the default language, which allows selecting the analogous language automatically in the app.Įarlier, the developers had to incorporate the text-to-speech feature into the apps. Two new languages, Vietnamese and Swedish has been added to the list of languages that is supported by the app. Look up yonder in the notification area for an icon that looks like a keyboard. No sketch to object, no handwriting to text, no insert tables. There are so many functions mission, it actually blows my mind. Touch a text box or somehow get the onscreen keyboard to appear. So I just got a Samsung S6 lite for note taking and realised that one note might be the worst note taking app on android. Here you can make all the required changes. To ensure that the tablet’s dictation feature is active, obey these steps: Display the onscreen keyboard. All you have to do is go to the Settings, select Language and Input and then click on Text-To-Speech output option. You can also make changes to the languages, the rate of speech, voice sets, and a lot more while using this feature. This feature comes in handily when you are having issues in pronouncing tricky words. When the Text-To-Speech option is selected from the drop-down list, the Engine will read out the text loud through your smartphone. The selected text is highlighted first, and then the options are given out. ![]() It is bloatware I haven't felt compelled to remove. This new updated version of this feature will include Google Text-to-Speech Engine as an option in the floating text selection toolbar. *Please note, I do not use the Google Talkback feature. Also, It doesn't always mess up, even when using the method above. Usually I would retrain myself to tap the keyboard (instead of the microphone) when I'm done speaking, but my Bluetooth isn't that smart. It seems to only do this if I tap the microphone after it has displayed the text. For me I have had this happen on G-Mail, ChompSMS, and Clash of Clans that I know of for sure. I know people always want to blame the custom ROM any time something goes wrong (because usually IT IS the ROM) but this has been a very stable mod, and as shown above this is happening on a lot of devices most all claim to be stock. Some people were blaming Google Talkback*, but even with it uninstalled and a reboot this problem prosiest. This bug seems to be across very select apps, and doesn't always want to show up. This started happening to me about a month ago if I recall correctly. It also seems like this is popping up on a few more devices around the web lately. ![]() Sorry to post on an old thread, but this is the top result on Google when searching "text to speech" + duplicate.
